Firstly, on behalf of all Isleworthians’ members, many thanks to Adrianne & Simon, from the Royal Oak, for voluntarily managing our bar and functions so successfully for over five years. The Royal Oak will continue to be OIRFC’s second home.
With their help, the bar management has been transferred back in house under the direction of the Isleworthians Association Bar Committee which worked hard to prepare for the bar re-opening.
The first bar opening was last Friday for a very successful rugby vets event with over 50 attendees.
During the rest of summer season the bar will be open regularly:
- on Saturdays from 5pm for cricket (or 3pm when there’s touch rugby) up to 9pm, or midnight for functions; and
- occasionally on Friday evenings and Sundays; and
- We will extend these opening times for various sporting events on the TV.
Please note that we have to operate according to the Covid protocols which apply to all bars until the restrictions are lifted, and we will be accepting card only payments for a trial period.
Having been deprived of our important bar business during two lock downs, the Isleworthians club needs your support, so please come along to the bar whenever you get a chance.
We are starting to take function bookings again, so spread the word to your family and friends about our great venue for parties and other social functions. If you’re a current or past player, you’ll get priority and preferential arrangements. For more details visit isleworthians.co.uk and/or email functions-isleworthians@outlook.com.
Finally, we are looking to add to our short list of paid bar staff so if you are interested in occasional weekend evenings bar work, please reply to this email with your contact details.
